50th Anniversary Excellence Studentships (URS) for  Overseas StudentsFull-time Overseas students only

Applications from any field of research are eligible. 

Funding is for full-time study only, beginning October 2013, January 2014 or April 2014.

Funding lasts for three years, with each year providing:

• Tuition fee
• Annual stipend of £13,590* (for accommodation and expenses)
• Training Support Grant of £1,000 per year

Applicants should discuss their research proposal with a suitable academic, and send them their CV and research proposal.

 A full online application is not required at this stage. 

Successful applicants will be asked to make a full online application.

How to apply for postgraduate research funding

Follow these steps:

1. Find an academic who specialises in your proposed research area and contact them directly.
2. If they are willing to support you in your studies, you must apply online.
3. When you apply, you must:
   • Clearly state your proposed supervisor
   • Clearly state the proposed title/subject of your research and your research background
   • Say which scholarship or studentship you are applying for, if applicable
4. If you are applying for funding, ensure you apply before the relevant deadline.
