The following new probationary academic staff have been allocated funding for a research student in their area of studies.

Student start date October 2013, January 2014 or April 2014:

Dr Andrew Rhead, Department of Mechanical Engineering.

How to apply for postgraduate research funding

Follow these steps:

1. Find an academic who specialises in your proposed research area and contact them directly.
2. If they are willing to support you in your studies, you must apply online.
3. When you apply, you must:
   • Clearly state your proposed supervisor
   • Clearly state the proposed title/subject of your research and your research background
   • Say which scholarship or studentship you are applying for, if applicable
4. If you are applying for funding, ensure you apply before the relevant deadline.
