A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) exists between the University of Reading's School of Systems Engineering and Expo Technologies Ltd. The company specialises in Purge and Pressurization systems to protect electrical equipment in hazardous or classified areas. Industries serviced include offshore, oil, gas, petrochemical and pharmaceutical. Expo Technologies design and manufacture both standard and bespoke solutions. This full time fixed term post will be based at the company in Sunbury, Surrey.
This exciting 24 month project is to develop an innovative power source to facilitate the running of advanced sensing and communications technology in hazardous areas.
We require an enthusiastic and motivated graduate with good attention to detail with the ability to explain engineering concepts to stakeholder management (or the ability to learn this). You will have an M.Eng in Electronic Engineering or similar (2:1 or higher) along with 1-3 years of design experience in power electronics and power supplies or a related field. You will be technically astute with a strong desire to learn and develop and have proven strong communication skills. Familiarity with mechanical design and systems is highly desirable. A positive approach and drive to achieve set outcomes is vital.
