Salary: Grade 6 £23,811 to £27,578 per annum.
Summary:
The AMRC with Boeing, established in 2001, has grown to become a world-leading centre of advanced machining and materials research for aerospace and other high-value sectors. It has around 70 industrial members, from global giants such as Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems and Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, to local small businesses.
The AMRC's Design and Prototyping Centre (DPC) will be an extension to our original facility. The Centre will be a state-of-the-art facility which will house a multi-disciplinary team of around 40 design engineers comprising of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control, electronics and software engineers. The centre will provide engineering and design expertise to the UK's high value engineering sector.
The successful candidate will be part of a team working on design projects for partner companies, local SME's and European funded framework research projects.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines: Computer Aided Design, Finite Element Analysis, Mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Design for Manufacture, Rapid Prototyping, Aesthetics & Styling, Industrial Design, Instrumentation & Control Engineering.  You must have an excellent grasp of engineering principles and motivated to work on your own or within a team. Good communication skills and active time management are essential.
 The post holder should be able to present their work in a clear and professional manner working to deadlines, thus ensuring the delivery of high quality, functional engineering solutions, on time and on budget. The post holder must have a keen interest in engineering and design.
