UK: Marie Curie Early Stage Researchers Bradford

Two early stage researchers are required at the University of Bradford to support a project within an Marie Curie funded ITN “Hydrodynamic Transport in Ecologically Critical Heterogeneous Interfaces (HYTECH) –http://hytech.dii.unipd.it.
At Bradford we will run two projects, one to investigate sediment bedload and the other suspended load movement and their impact on the natural environment. The projects will focus on the understanding of the underlying physics of 3D turbulent flow structures at the water worked porous gravel-flow deposit boundary.
You should have a good honours degree in engineering or a relevant discipline. You should also have the capability to develop to strong experimental measuring skills using techniques such as using PIV and ADV and also develop strong advanced mesh free numerical modelling capabilities such as the use of SPH, MPS or DPM models. These posts are part of an EU initial training network so there are secondments at other partners and network activities to enhance the experience of the researchers. All candidates must meet the eligibility rules of the Marie Curie ITN program clarification required from Marie Curie.
In order to comply with the funding rules of the Marie Curie programme Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) must, at the time of recruitment, (i) be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree; (ii) not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date.
