UK: PhD Position, Application of Artificial Intelligence Techniques to Nano-Communication Networks

Deadline: 26th Nov. 2012

Fully Funded PhD Studentship
University of Warwick -School of Engineering
This 3 year project is concerned with the concept of using nano-devices/machines/robots for a variety of applications is one of the most important research topics in modern times. We are now at a stage when the fabrication of Carbon nanotubes and biological inspired molecular devices is no longer just the dream of science fiction writers! Of concern however, is how such nano devices will communicate with each other. In this project, we are interested in trying to determine how the ideas and concepts that originate from Artificial Intelligence, such as Neural Networks or Genetic Algorithms can augment the research currently being undertaken within the ComNet laboratory in establishing ground breaking results in nanocommunications and networking.
ELIGIBILITY
This studentship is fully funded for UK/EU/Overseas students with both tuition fees paid and a standard stipend of £13k per year for 3 years.
