Switzerland PostDoc Position: TransCure International Fellowship Program

The International Fellowship Program (IFP) TransCure, funded in part by an FP7 European Marie Curie Actions grant, invites applicants for post-doctoral training in a multidisciplinary research network with state-of-the-art biophysics, pathophysiology, structural biology and medicinal chemistry. IFP TransCure supports highly qualified international postdoctoral scientists to conduct research at major universities in Switzerland, including Basel, Bern, Lausanne and Zürich, as part of the activities of this unique translational research network. The major support for this network comes from the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) TransCure (http://www.transcure.org). Our research focuses on therapeutically attractive membrane transporters and ion channels with the aim to understand and develop treatments for major human diseases.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants for the TransCure International Fellowship Program must at the time of their application either hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) or a confirmation of receiving a degree no later than October 31st, 2012. The doctoral degree must have been awarded no more than four years prior to the application date. Exceptions are made for well documented career breaks (e.g. parental leave).

Applicants of any nationality (including Swiss citizens) must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Switzerland for more than 12 months within 3 years immediately prior to the application deadline. Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Applicants must have at least one original publication as first author published, in press, or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal.
