This research is an exciting EPSRC-funded programme which includes theoretical study of radio resource allocation in spectrum sharing systems for cognitive radio networks and investigates the impact of parameters uncertainty on the overall system performance. Main research objectives are:
  • To design and develop novel radio resource allocation (RRA) algorithms for spectrum sharing systems with uncertain channel information and spectrum sensing.
  • To develop novel distributed RRA algorithms with low computational complexity and signalling overhead.
  • To develop an analytical cross layer modelling framework for RRA in spectrum sharing systems.
  • To investigate system trade-offs based on the developed analytical model.

Please include a brief research statement with your application explaining your research background and interests.

Anticipated start date, 1st July 2013.
