Germany: PhD Fellowship for biomedical image analysis

The recently established Cluster of Excellence "Cells in Motion" (CiM,http://www.uni-muenster.de/CiMIC/) and the International Max Planck Research School Molecular Biomedicine (IMPRS-MBM) offer interdisciplinary approaches to biomedical research with a strong emphasis on imaging. One of the research directions for potential PhD projects is biomedical image/pattern analysis and understanding (http://www.cim-imprs.de/ --> projects --> Xiaoyi Jiang).
16 PhD Fellowships are offered for the whole graduate school this year. The program provides excellent scientific and transferable skills training, a competitive tax-free fellowship, and support with administrative matters, accomodation, visas etc. There are no tuition fees. The program language is English. The selection process will be very competitive. Highly qualified and motivated students of any nationality with education in computer science or mathematics and a strong background in image analysis and pattern recognition are welcome to apply.
Applications for the 3-year PhD program can be submitted no later than 10 May 2013. Projects start in October 2013. Applications can only be submitted via the online system.
