The Power Networks Demonstration Centre (PNDC), based at Cumbernauld near Glasgow in Scotland, is a brand new collaborative venture by the University’s highly rated Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, which aims to provide members with diverse scientific and technical expertise and to underpin and facilitate successful research, development, demonstration projects and programs. 

To be considered for this post, you will have a good honours degree in electrical engineering, along with a comprehensive knowledge of electrical power systems and an appreciation of the associated protection, control and automation schemes presently implemented at distribution and transmission networks.  You will be capable of applying this knowledge in a highly practical environment as well as generating new ideas and visions. Confident in working on your own initiative as well as part of a wider research team, you will be experienced in working to and meeting set deadlines. You will be a skilled programmer with keen attention to detail and you will have some experience in the simulation of load flow and/or transients.  With a developing ability to plan and conduct individual research and knowledge exchange activity, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be confident in presenting complex information in an accessible way to a range of audiences.
