Excitation and Control of Parametric Vibration in Mechanical Structures
Required to investigate the response of various components of vibration machines to application-relevant dynamic loading and to analyse conditions for parametric excitation in mechanical structures, to simulate autoresonant excitation and control of parametric oscillations in mechanical structure as well as to perform experiments on control of vibration.
The successful candidate will be a part of international research collaboration within the framework of the European Commission (EC) funded PARM-2 project (VIBRO-IMPACT MACHINES BASED ON PARAMETRIC RESONANCE: Concepts, mathematical modelling, experimental verification and implementation). Five universities and three companies from four countries are involved in this collaboration. The aim of the project is to enhance the potential and output of vibrating machines and decrease their ecological footprint by implementation of parametric resonance (PR).
Applicants must have a good honours degree in mechanical engineering, dynamics and control or other relevant subject. Experience in using a microprocessor in machine design and conducting vibration experiments would be advantageous.
