The
JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is jointly organized by the
United Nations University and the Japan Society for the Promotion of
Science (JSPS). It is designed to enable young researchers to conduct
advanced research relevant to the main thematic focus of the UNU
Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS, Yokohama) or the UNU Institute
for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP, Tokyo), in co-operation with host
researchers at Japanese universities and research institutions.This
fellowship is aimed at candidates who have completed their PhD within
the past six years and have professional and/or research experience.Research proposals for a JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellowship should be policy-relevant and relate clearly to one of the research areas of UNU-IAS and UNU-ISP.JSPS-UNU
Fellowships will be awarded for a period of 24 months. Recipients will
receive a round-trip air ticket, a settling-in allowance and a monthly
maintenance allowance.The deadline for applications for the 2013 JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme, which begins on 1 September, is 28 February 2013.Candidates must be citizens of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan; Japanese nationals are not eligible.For more information, and to apply, see the JSPS-UNU Fellowship Programme page on the UNU-IAS website
