Deadline: 28 Feb. 2013
Bournemouth University -The Centre for Digital Entertainment (CDE)
£14,000 pa tax-free stipend
Project Description:
Shape deformation is one of the main research foci in computer graphics and animation. Our previous work has been focused on some special topics in computer graphics, e.g. texture mapping, facial expression cloning.
This further work will aim at the digitisation of cultural artefacts with faithful shape and visual representations, where both geometric features and texture maps are to be employed. One of the challenging issues is how to avoid/reduce image distortion in the reconstruction of the artefacts. The main objective of this PhD project is to develop a novel approach for texture mapping cultural artefacts without distortion.
