Sweden: PhD Student Position in Implantable Electronics

The research area Integrated Devices and Circuits conducts world leading research in four areas:
  • Silicon carbide for high temperature integrated circuit applications and high voltages
  • Silicon based nanodevices
  • Optical devices in III/V-materials
  • Radio and mixed signal circuit design
The experimental work is performed in the KTH Electrum Laboratory (www.electrumlaboratory.se), which is a Europe-leading university clean room.

Description of the position

The main objective of the position will be to take part in ongoing research projects in the group focusing on implantable electronics.  The project aims at exploring fundamental open research problems towards implantable medical devices. The project targets at developing energy-efficient and ultra-low power architectures for analog, mixed-signal and wireless communications, as well as energy harvesting and power management techniques for providing battery-free solutions.  Please visit the group web-page for a description of ongoing research projects ( www.ict.kth.se/ecis/).

Employment
Form of employment: Time limited, following the recommendations for PhD program employment in the Higher Education Ordinance (~ 4 years if fulltime studies).
Start date: As soon as possible
The salary: Follows “KTH PhD student salary agreement”
