Fluid Flow in Heap Leaching Salary range: £32,100 to £40,720 per annumFixed term appointment for up to 24 months

Applications are invited for a Research Associate in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering. The post will be based at the South Kensington Campus of Imperial College London.
This project will be an experimental study coupled with modelling of the liquid flow and mass transport within heap leaching. The project will be within the Advanced Heap Leaching program within the Rio Tinto Centre for Advanced Mineral Recovery and thus the applicant should have a demonstrated ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
The successful applicant should have a background in minerals processing, with experience of heap leaching desirable. The applicant should have an understanding of fluid dynamics, especially multi-phase flow. The applicant should have a strong experimental track record and be familiar with the Labview software.
The applicant should have completed, or expect to complete shortly a PhD (or equivalent) in an Engineering related field.
