Job description
The PhD candidate will investigate security technologies and
their use in Europe. The research takes place in several research
institutes in Europe, requiring close collaboration with other
researchers in the field. The research will require document research,
interviews with international experts, and interviews with technology
developers in Europe. You are also required to perform organisational
tasks for the project. Your work will result in a PhD thesis.
Requirements
We seek applicants with the following qualifications:
• MSc degree in criminology, operations management, social sciences or an engineering degree with a clear interest in social research
• Proven interest in international security themes
• Affinity for technology
• Affinity for decision-making processes and social themes
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written; proficiency with Dutch is preferred but not necessary.
• Analytical and flexible mind
