Deadline: 27-10-2012
Job description
The research project will focus on networking practices in
specific types of intra-organizational networks. Affinity networks are
identity-based networks geared towards information and support for
organization members with similar identities. These affinity networks
are either created by management or by diverse members of the
organization in order to facilitate the inclusion and development of
people with different identities in the organization. There are women’s
networks, minority networks, and networks for younger, older and GLBT
employees.
As a PhD student, you will examine how the networking practices in multiple affinity networks contribute to the creation of an inclusive workplace and on the development of diverse organization members.
The PhD project is part of a larger research programme that contributes to our knowledge on organized human activities of building and using relationships at work. In this research programme, several projects on networking and inequalities are conducted to study the dynamic, socio-political actions of people when they build and use their relations at work.
