Applicants are invited for an Early Stage Researcher position in the Marie-Curie Multi-terminal DC grid for offshore wind, initial training network (MEDOW ITN) at Cardiff School of Engineering.
The aim of the post is to undertake research on “Operation of DC grids with various types of voltage source converters” leading to a PhD degree award. The aim of the post is to investigate voltage source converters (VSC) and their compatibility when used in DC grids. Power systems with power electronics based devices will be modelled, simulated using software packages, and tested through lab experiments. A thorough knowledge of electrical power system analysis and control is essential. This post is fixed-term for 36 months.
