The post will involve two years initially of full-time research activity, followed by three years on the University of Bath probationary lecturer scheme. Following successful completion of these five years, the post holder will be confirmed in post as a Lecturer.

• have a scholarly reputation in the field of low carbon building design, preferably with specific interests in building physics, building services, renewables or low impact construction materials, or
• have a scholarly reputation in the field of water engineering, preferably with specific interests in water quality engineering and pollution, waste water treatment, water purification and reuse, fresh-water ecosystems, water desalination, flooding, sea defence, coastal engineering or oceanic behaviour.
You will have a record of sustained high quality publications, and preferably a proven track record of seeking and obtaining substantial funding for research. You will be expected to develop, largely through external funding, a research team in your chosen field.
As the post will lead to a permanent academic post, the post holder will be an effective teacher, inspiring some of the brightest students in the country. Other duties will depend upon the background of the post holder.

This could take the form of a recently-submitted proposal, a draft proposal, or a broader set of funding ideas. This document will be treated in the strictest confidence and with full respect for ownership. This is a mandatory component of the selection process, without which we will be unable to progress your application.

Salary:   Starting from £37,382, rising to £44,607
