Applications are invited for a Research Assistant to work on a FP7 Marie Curie IAPP collaborative research project which is seeking to develop an interactive knowledge networking platform incorporating 3D tools. We are looking for a full-time analyst programmer with a strong interest in software development, to provide programming support in building, testing and maintaining a prototype knowledge networking platform including sensors for collecting data from the network, database design and implementation, software interfaces for the data mining, learning and visualisation technologies, data analysis and support for participants and analysts to manage and engage with the system.
The successful applicant should have a strong background in software engineering. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in software engineering, computer science or any other associated discipline. Coding experience is essential including programming languages such as C/ C++, Java, HTML and CAD skills.
An interest in and knowledge of 3D virtual reality environments is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be based in the Advanced Manufacturing & Enterprise Engineering Department, School of Engineering & Design at Brunel University. This post is full time and fixed term for 1 year, and will be located at the Uxbridge campus. The work may lead to opening of a PhD position.
