Deadline: 1st September 2012
PhD
Fellowship in investigate nanomaterial and organic micropollutants
during natural water and wastewater treatment (riverbank filtration,
bank filtration and soil aquifer treatment) at Sejong University, Seoul,
South Korea
Study Subject(s): Natural water and wastewater treatment / nanopaticles (fullerene) / organic micropollutants
Course Level: PhD
Scholarship Provider: Sejong University
Eligibility:
The successful candidate has training and interest in one or more of
the following area: water and wastewater treatment, groundwater
remediation, groundwater modeling.
-The candidate will have a high motivation for research and solid written and oral communication skills.
-The applicants will enjoy working in and contributing to an international and cross-disciplinary research team.
-English is the operational language of the department.
-At the date of appointment, candidates must have obtained a M.Sc. in
Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental
Science, Chemistry or related discipline, evidence of research
experiences.
This PhD fellowship is available at the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering , and its main objective is set to investigate
nanoparticles and organic micropollutants during soil passage
(riverbank filtration). The high number of pharmaceuticals and the wide
variety of biodegradation and speciation processes characteristic to
these compounds require to understand how these compounds behave during
natural water treatment such as riverbank filtration.
