- The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and The
University of Western Australia (UWA) are offering postgraduate research
scholarships each year to students from the People's Republic of China
who intend to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at UWA.
UWA will provide a scholarship for tuition fees and health insurance for the award holder only for selected students and the CSC will consider the applications of these students for a living allowance as prescribed from time to time by the Chinese Government, a return airfare to Australia by the most economical route, and visa application fees.
Successful applicants will also be awarded a UWA China Safety Net top-Up Scholarship which provides a supplementary fortnightly stipend to be paid through the UWA payroll system. The value of the UWA China Safety Net Top-up Scholarship is determined by the UWA Scholarships Committee and the annual value may be varied up or down in subsequent years from the amount initially quoted in the year of commencement.

- Please Note: The conditions for payment of the Overseas Student Health Cover for new China SIRF Scholarships awarded from April 2012 (Round 2 2012) onwards have changed. The scholarship covers the International Tuition Fees and payment of the Overseas Health Cover for the award holder only. These scholarships do not cover the cost of health insurance premiums for dependants of the award holder.
