UCL Security and Crime Science
Full Time: The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £32,375 to £39,132 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
Applications are invited for a Research Associate to help develop a programme of research and teaching in cybercrime. The appointee will be expected to undertake high quality research that will contribute to the research standing and culture of the Department. This appointment will also contribute to teaching on the Department’s MSc programmes (Crime Science, Countering Organised Crime and Terrorism, and Forensic Sciences).
This appointment is funded for three years in the first instance.
The appointment would ideally suit either an early career researcher wishing to advance his/her academic career in this field, or a professional who working in the field and wants to move into a teaching and research career. The successful candidate will have a PhD (or near completion) in a relevant discipline (e.g., computer science, engineering, security and crime science, criminology, psychology) or extensive professional experience in cybercrime investigation and prevention. Candidates must have a publication track record or the clear potential to achieve this, and an ability or potential to attract research funding. A commitment to conducting research that feeds into professional practice and policy-making is essential.
