Job assignments
The Department of Computer Science has a vacant PhD student position in the area of programming languages and their implementation. The position will focus on new algorithms and applications of reference attribute grammars, in particular for interactive systems. The department has developed a tool called JastAdd that supports reference attribute grammars, and the work will involve using and further developing this tool. The student will participate in the project "Interactive Tools based on Reference Attribute Grammars (ITRAG), financed by the Swedish Research Council. The position is full time, including 20% department work, mainly teaching at the undergraduate level.
Eligibility/Entry Requirements
Master's degree in Computer Science. The position requires good mastery of object-oriented programming, and good knowledge of compiler construction, in particular for object-oriented languages like Java. The position requires good written and oral communication skills in English. Experience from teaching, and experience from reference attribute grammars is an advantage.
Basis of Assessment
The employment of doctoral students is regulated in the Swedish Code of Statues 1998:80. Only those who are or have been admitted to PhD-studies may be appointed to doctoral studentships. When an appointment to a doctoral studentship is made, the ability of the student to benefit from PhD-studies shall primarily be taken into account. In addition to devoting themselves to their studies, those appointed to doctoral studentships may be required to work with educational tasks, research and administration, in accordance with specific regulations in the ordinance.
