Sweden: Position as doctoral student in Education

The University of Gothenburg Learning and Media Technology Studio (LETStudio) in collaboration with The Linnaeus Centre for Research on Learning, Interaction and Mediated Communication in Contemporary Society (LinCS) are pleased to announce a position for a PhD student in Education at the Department for Education, Communication and Learning. LETStudio is a strategic initiative for promoting interdisciplinary research within the Learning Sciences at The University of Gothenburg. The overarching research theme addresses how knowledge is generated and transformed and the ways in which expertise is challenged in a technology intense society. LinCS is a national centre of excellence funded by the Swedish Research Council.

The project Interprofessional learning in simulation training for the health care professions includes funding for a doctoral student position. The project is funded by the Swedish Research Council (project 2012-5450) and involves the University of Gothenburg, the Linköping University and the Karolinska Institute. The general research interest of the project concerns issues related to how simulations can be used to develop teamwork competences in education for the healthcare professions. The part of the project carried out at the University of Gothenburg focuses on how video can be used for feedback and reflection on simulated situations. Empirical data is collected in collaboration with a simulator centre for basic and continuing healthcare staff training.

Job assignments

Job assignments for the successful applicant will include data collection, analysis and reporting within the project. The position is full-time and may include work within the department for up to a maximum of 20%, including work within the LinCS videolab.

Eligibility

The qualifications for education on a doctoral level are: degree in advanced level, at least 240 university points, of which 60 are on an advanced level, or in an other way acquired similar knowledge.

3. A master thesis or other research oriented texts (bachelor thesis, papers, reports etc.). If not written in English or a Scandinavian language it must be translated to one of these languages
4. Attested copies of education certificates, including grade reports and other documents that prove that general and specific entry requirements are met
5. Description of the planned dissertations topic and how the study will be carried out
6. Any other qualifications that the applicant may wish to refer to
