Sweden: PhD student position in Distributed Coordination of Networked Mobile Systems in Uncertain Environments

Job description
The successful candidate will join the Mechatronics group at Chalmers, where a team of PhD students, post-docs and senior researchers is focusing on distributed coordination problems. The candidate will work under the supervision of senior researchers with background in automatic control and communication systems.

The working time of a Ph.D. student is mainly devoted to research. Undergraduate teaching duties, not exceeding 20% of the working time, may include supervision of MSc students. The position is partially funded by the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskaprådet). The employment is limited to a maximum of five years.

Qualifications
Applicants shall have a Master’s Degree or corresponding in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Math or in a related discipline. A genuine interest and curiosity in the subject, excellent oral and written English communication skills are needed. Knowledge of Swedish represents a merit. A successful applicant should have a strong background in optimization and control theory.
