Korea: PhD, Post-Doc. positions at KIST South Korea and KIT Germany

in Collboration with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.

Research theme: Interdisciplinary NanoBio-technology/engineering in Brain/Neuroscience
Related fields: Chemical Engineering, Biomedical (Biological) Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Life Sciences

Postdoctoral or commissioned researcher( MS should have finished) positions are available for highly motivated scientists/engineers to join a dynamic group in Center for BioMicrosystems, Brain Science Institute at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). This is an exciting opportunity to perform leading-edge research on combining Chemical / Biological Engineering with Brain/Neuroscience. It will be team-based collaborative efforts with other research centers at KIST and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.

Available projects:
Development of in vitro blood-brain barrier (BBB) models (close collaboration with KIT in Germany)
Development of multifunctional (e.g., oxygen and pH) polymeric nanoparticles for quantitative imaging in vitro and in vivo
Development of hydrogel-based assays for high-throughput quantification of biomolecules

Skills and techniques (desirable, but not required):
microfabrication, cell/molecular biology techniques, 2D (and 3D) cell culture, image analysis, fluorescence/phosphorescence microscopy
